The new recently completed Larnaka International Airport, the main air-gateway to Cyprus, lies 10 km from the City of Larnaka and 50km from the Capital Nicosia and 65 Km from Limassol.
The high-tech airport with an area of 100.000 square meters can handle up to 7.9 million passengers annually.

Paphos Airport is located at 15 km from the town of Paphos, 45 km from Limassol and about 170 km from the capital Nicosia.

Hermes Airports Ltd., a joint venture company registered in Cyprus, handles the management and operation of both airports under a 25 year concession agreement with the Cyprus Government.

The agreement stipulated the upgrading of both airports with the construction of new passenger terminal buildings and related infrastructure at total cost of €800 million Euro.

As a result, the new passenger terminal at Pafos opened in November 2008, followed by the all new Airport at Larnaka which opened in November 2009.
Both airports are of high international standards with first class ultra-modern facilities and excellent travellers services.
At an estimated of €1 billion Euro, plans are in place for the construction of an airport hotel, cultural and touristic entertainment facilities and a large commercial centre.

Recently there has been discussions between the government and the airport operator to rename Larnaka Airport as “Larnaka Zenon Airport” while Paphos Airport would be named “Paphos Aphrodite Airport”.
Suggestions for the names change is part of an effort to link the historical heritage, of both Larnaka & Paphos, with the present modern times.
