Cyprus Weather
During the sun drenched summer months, grain turns the countryside golden yellow and flowering oleander provides a colourful counterpoint. Autumn is redolent with the scent of herbs, fruit and wine when the rare strawberry tree bears its crimson fruit.
In the island's mild winter, almond trees blossom and citrus ripens while the mountains are covered in a white blanket of snow. This is the season of the migratory birds who winter here.
Flocks of songbirds, pink flamingoes, geese and swans populate the island. There are vistas of beaches and sea on the one hand, woods and mountains on the other. Also gently rolling hills and steep coastal cliffs, picturesque coves and Mediterranean vegetation.
It's so easy to discover Cyprus' richly contrasting beauty at every season, as the garden of Aphrodite displays its splendours all year round.

The General Climate in Cyprus
The island of Cyprus has the best Mediterranean climate with approximately 340 days of sunshine per year. Summer is long and dry stretching from mid-May to mid-October. Winter is mild from December to February. Autumn and spring, which lay between summer and winter are short seasons. During Summer, temperatures are high and the skies are cloudless. At the costal areas, the sea breeze creates a pleasant atmosphere making these areas very popular visitors' locations.
Winters are mild with rain and snow on the Troodos mountains starting just before Christmas. However, even during December and January the weather is pleasant with an average of six hours of bright sunshine per day.
The swimming season practically starts from April and does not end until November. The Troodos mountains with their pine forests are close to the coast and, during winter, it is possible to ski on the mountains and then go swimming in the blue Mediterranean sea within the same day.
